In celebration

I really wish some changes would wait until after the holidays.

Now I know not everyone celebrates the Christmas season. Since I don’t have little ones at home, other than my four legged kids, I don’t decorate as much. I don’t always put up a tree. I don’t always bake a huge meal on Dec. 25th. But I do like to keep an operation running smoothly. If I have to make changes, I push hard to do so beginning in Jan.

Not everyone follows that, unfortunately. Recent events out of my control left me unable to update the website. This is bad when trying to run a business, especially with the release of new books, during the busiest time of the year.

Fortunately, the thing most underestimate is the ingenuity of human beings. I have found a temporary solution around the road block. I’m finally able to update the website, which I have, mostly. I still have lots to do to get ready for next year. Thankfully it is only adding new info on authors and their works. Nothing major…maybe.

I am weighing my options on a new hosting site. Do I move everything that I’ve built for the past ten years? Or do I simply continue the way I am: having to log in under the wrong name to make corrections to a site not associated with the business one. It works, but for how long? I have narrowed the choices down to four, two standing out more than the others. That is a change I will deal with…after the first of the year. I will continue to ponder, look and consider.

Since I have a fix of sorts, I feel a celebration is in order. All the e-book available on the Whimsical Publications site will be 50% off, starting on Dec 11th. That is a special day in a couple of ways. First, it is a family member’s birthday. Second, it’s the release date for a really good book by D. M. Thornton titled Lost, Book One in the Lost series.

The available formats for all the books are: epub, mobi, pdf, rtf, lrf, pdb, txt, html. A code will be placed on the book page. All you have to do to get the discount is put the code in when ordering. That’s it. Simple.  This could be classed as buy one, get one free, depending on your point of view.

The sale will last until Dec 31st.
